Rudy Gobert grew up in Saint-Quentin, France, and his foundation is built around a simple idea: help children where he lives, where he plays, and where he comes from. Rudy's Kids has supported tens of thousands of children with food, recreation and holiday help in Utah, Minnesota and France.
Rudy's Kids Foundation
Gobert launched Rudy's Kids Foundation in 2017 to improve the lives of children in need, raising money through his apparel shop, events and his play on the court. According to the foundation, it has generated more than $600,000 in donations and helped more than 20,000 children.
$1,000 for Every Block
To launch the foundation, Gobert pledged $1,000 for every blocked shot in selected games, with the money going to children's charities in both home and opposing cities. Recipients included the Sacramento Children's Home and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.
Rudy Gobert Camp
Since 2014 Gobert has run a basketball camp in his hometown of Saint-Quentin, France, giving young players there coaching and a connection to someone from their own streets who reached the NBA.
$500,000 for Pandemic Relief
After becoming the first NBA player to test positive for COVID-19, Gobert donated $500,000: $200,000 for part-time employees at the Jazz's arena in Salt Lake City, $100,000 each for affected families in Utah and Oklahoma City, and 100,000 euros for the French health care system.
A Thank-You for Arena Workers
In his first season in Minnesota, Gobert gave $50 and a signed card to each of more than 450 Target Center workers, the ushers, concession staff and others who keep game nights running.
Children's Wellbeing Partnerships
The foundation continues to grow partnerships in France, including work with Kellanova's French team to support children's wellbeing, alongside its long-standing support for children in Saint-Quentin and in his NBA cities.
